Cactus Face is a new project from Dresden based composer / creator Michael Mortlock
“They say in the desert you can’t remember your name...”
Take a look inside yourself and what do you see? In the desert haze, things can get a little distorted. You’re dehydrated, hungry and that blistering sun ain’t helping either. Did that Cactus just talk to me? The subconscious takes over your mind and things start to blur together into a tapestry of our inner thoughts and experiences. Our strongest desires, our deepest fears. A longing for something unreachable. A connection... Cactus Face is a new project from Dresden based composer / creator Michael Mortlock - dreamt up after years of absorbing his many influences and dreams coupled with a strong desire to bring them to light. Inspired by multi-genre-mashing producers including Bonobo, Flying Lotus and DJ Shadow to name a few, Cactus Face blends downtempo, trip-hop beats with a hazy, cinematic flair. Dresden is a long way from any desert and yet the various tunes that make up the forthcoming debut album is like a full course meal. “Those Hot Summer Nights” is just the entrée. Coming soon – the main course and maybe even some dessert. While Mortlock created all the ingredients, the final mastering was deftly done by collaborator Emanuel ‘Emu’ Uch – also based in Dresden. So close your eyes, quench your thirst and let your imagination run wild. https://cactusface.lnk.to/THSN Comments are closed.
