+ Fascinator Remix of "Girls" Out Today
Deep Sea Arcade are re-releasing their acclaimed debut album Outlands on vinyl through Impressed Recordings on November 29th.
This special edition vinyl (185 copies) is a celebration of the band’s legacy and is accompanied by remixes of key tracks from the album. Today, we kick things off with the remix of "Girls" by Johnny Mackay (Fascinator, Children Collide), titled "Girls (Re-Fascinated)"—out now.
Lead singer and songwriter Nic Mckenzie reflects on the re-release as a tribute to the band’s late co-founder Nick Weaver: “I was reminiscing on the great times I had recording this album with my dear friend Nick, who tragically passed away in 2021. Not only did it inspire me to work on new material, but it felt like a meaningful way to celebrate his memory.” Originally released in 2012 through Ivy League Records, Outlands was named a Feature Album by both Triple J and FBi Radio and received international support from BBC Radio, KCRW, and XFM, among others. The band toured extensively, sharing stages with acts like Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Spoon, and Modest Mouse, and performing at major festivals like Lowlands, The Great Escape, and Primavera Sound. The re-release of Outlands on vinyl, along with the "Girls (Re-Fascinated)" remix, offers fans a nostalgic journey through the band’s influential work in anticipation of a new album in 2025.
